2.7 kW Off Grid Solar Power
The cost of connection to the grid at the time was quoted at $60,000, so the owners of this system had easily made a decision to go off grid. This Stand Alone Solar Power system was installed in 2010 and comprises of a 2.7 kW solar array, 65 kW/hr battery bank and Selectronic SP PRO 4.5 kW Off Grid solar inverter/charger.
This Off Grid Power system supplies a reliable source of electricity to this Sunshine Coast home including modern appliances such as refrigeration, LED televisions, washing machine, water pumps and lighting.
The Selectronic SP PRO inverter was chosen because if the electricity grid becomes available then the owners are able to connect this system to the grid, if desired. The SP Pro is also capable of paralleling with a generator to provide more power, if required . The cost of connection to the grid at the time was quoted at $60,000.
