This 3 kW off grid solar power system was designed for a retired couple living on a rural property in Sandy Creek. It provides enough power for their household appliances as well as equipment used in the workshop.
Connecting the property to mains electricity was prohibitively expensive, so the owners chose a stand alone system instead.
Sandy Creek Off Grid Solar System
The system includes a 3 kW solar array, 3 kW inverter charger, 16 kWh of battery capacity and a 70 amp solar charger.
This combination gives the owners enough stored energy and inverter capacity to support normal domestic use while also supplying power to the workshop.

Remote System Monitoring
The owners can monitor the system remotely from their smartphone, removing the need to regularly visit the equipment enclosure to check that everything is operating correctly.
Monitoring is available through Victron Energy’s free VictronConnect application, which provides access to system information and performance data.
