Off Grid Solar Technical Support in Queensland and Northern NSW
A warning light on the inverter is a different problem when you are two hours from town and there is no grid to fall back on. We provide telephone and remote technical support for off grid solar systems across Queensland and Northern NSW.
You get through to the people who design and install these systems rather than a call centre or a ticket queue.
Have the make and model of your inverter and batteries handy, along with whatever your monitoring is showing.

Why Phone Support Matters More Off Grid
On a grid connected property, a fault is an inconvenience. Off grid, it can mean no water pump, no refrigeration and no lights. On a remote property, that situation can continue for days while you wait for somebody to become available.
A good proportion of what goes wrong does not need a site visit at all. Some problems can be resolved through a settings change, a reset completed in the correct order, or an explanation of what a particular reading means. Resolving these issues remotely can avoid an unnecessary site visit, which matters a great deal when the nearest technician is several hours away.
What Happens When You Call
We gather the right information, review what is happening and give you a clear next step.
Tell Us What Changed
Tell us the make and model of your inverter, charge controller and batteries, what the system is doing now, and what changed before the problem started.
We Review the System
If remote monitoring is fitted and you have authorised our access, we may review the system data while we talk.
You Get a Clear Next Step
We explain whether the issue can be addressed remotely, safely monitored, or requires a site visit. If a visit is needed, we explain the work and provide a quote before arranging it.
What We Can Help With Over the Phone
Many off grid system questions and faults can be understood or resolved without waiting for a site visit.
Understanding Your Monitoring
This is the most common call we take and often the most useful one to resolve. Monitoring data tells you a great deal once you know what you are looking at, and very little before that. We can walk you through what your system is reporting and what it means for the days ahead.
Inverter and Charge Controller Errors
Error codes rarely explain themselves. We can generally interpret what an inverter or charge controller is reporting from the make, model and code, and tell you what needs to happen next.
Battery Behaviour
Some battery behaviour that looks alarming is entirely normal, and some behaviour that looks fine is worth acting on. Knowing which is which saves a good deal of unnecessary worry, and it occasionally catches a developing problem early.
Generator Settings and Run Hours
If the generator is starting more often than it used to, the cause may be a settings issue, a seasonal pattern, or a sign that the system is no longer sized for what the property is drawing. We can usually narrow that down over the phone.
Managing Loads Through Poor Weather
During an extended run of grey days, reducing non essential loads may help preserve the available battery capacity. We can talk you through what the system is carrying and which loads may be appropriate to reduce.
Working Out Whether You Need a Site Visit
Sometimes the answer is that somebody has to come out. Establishing that quickly is better than spending a week guessing, and if it comes to repairs or an upgrade, we cover Queensland and Northern NSW.

Remote Diagnosis Through System Monitoring
Where compatible remote monitoring is installed, connected and authorised for our access, we can look at the data with you while we talk. Being able to see charge behaviour, load patterns and error history across recent weeks usually identifies the problem faster than any description over the phone.
Monitoring is one of the reasons we fit it on the systems we design. When monitoring is included during the original installation, it can make future support more efficient by providing access to recent system data and reducing the need to diagnose every issue from a verbal description.
If We Did Not Install Your System
We will still take the call. There is a limit to what anyone can diagnose remotely on hardware they do not know, and without the original design documentation some questions cannot be answered from a distance. Even then, a conversation will often establish whether you are looking at something straightforward or something that needs a technician on site.
If the system turns out to need work, we handle repairs and upgrades and ongoing servicing across Queensland and Northern NSW.
Off Grid Experience You Can Rely On
Stand Alone Power Systems has nearly two decades of experience designing, installing and supporting off grid systems. Founder and lead system designer Mark Wright has spent more than twenty years working with off grid power across rural Australia. His experience includes system design, generator integration, performance diagnosis and support for established off grid systems.
That experience also covers advising on equipment installed by other providers.
“Stand Alone Power Systems installed my Off-Grid solar system 9 years ago, they did a great job and after sales service has been fantastic!
Darryl, Oman Ama
“We had a complex system to which we had multiple upgrades and Stand Alone Power Systems were able to help with the fine tune and got the whole system working trouble-free

Areas We Support
Based in Warwick, we provide phone support across Queensland and Northern NSW. Distance does not always prevent us from helping. If a site visit is required, we confirm whether the property is within our service area and explain any travel requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do You Charge for Phone Support?
Call us and explain what the system is doing. We will tell you if the issue requires paid technical work or a site visit before any chargeable work proceeds. Site visits are quoted before they are arranged.
Can You Help if Someone Else Installed My System?
We will take the call. What we can resolve remotely depends on the equipment and how much is known about the original design, though a conversation will usually establish whether the problem needs somebody on site.
What Information Should I Have Ready?
The make and model of your inverter, charge controller and batteries, whatever error codes or readings you are seeing, and a rough sense of what changed before the problem started.
Can You See My System Remotely?
Where compatible remote monitoring is installed, connected and authorised for our access, we may be able to review the system data with you. The information available depends on the monitoring platform and how the system was configured.
What Happens if the Problem Cannot Be Solved Over the Phone?
We tell you that plainly and talk through what a site visit would involve. We would rather be straight about it than have you spend a week working through possibilities that were never going to fix it.
How Quickly Will Someone Get Back to Me?
Call us and explain what the system is doing. If someone with the required technical experience is not immediately available, we will let you know when the enquiry can be reviewed. Response times depend on current workload and the urgency of the issue.
